Vox AC30 amplifiers are kept in
stock as a
general rule. We also service Vox AC10, AC15, AC50 and AC100. Vox amps
are great vintage amplifiers with wonderful tones.

Not many of these beauties left. The amp to the left sold to a collector in Indiana. A great majority of fine vintage amps are bought and tucked away making them harder and harder to obtain. | ![]() The red panel amplifier is one
of the
sweetest sounding amps because of their rich tone, and their adaptable
tones. This amp is very guitar sensitive. Different guitars will yield
almost completely different sounds not having adjusted the volume or
tone controls on the AC30 itself. This is due to the simplicity of the
wonderful amp.

| An extensive amount of time and work are needed to get a vintage chassis to like this one! We strip down the whole chassis and clean each piece one at a time. This amp has an all tube design if built from the JMI era. The fact that the amp is constructed with glass audio valves gives it the special character tube guitar amps are well known for. This all Valve design is intensified with the Cathode bias arrangement in the output tube section. Cathode bias is a method in which the vacuum tube is set to a fixed idle current that allows the tube to operate without a negative bias voltage. This is a reflection on the simplicity the Vox AC30 amp was designed with. |

at the photos to the right and see how we received it!
|
![]() Not a good prospect for reliable
service, wouldn't you say?
|
![]() This grime and corrosion is
baked on hard! A dental tool was used to scrape away the little bit you
see here.

![]() The AC30 above is the same amplifier in the picture on the left after restoration. We recycled the original VOX logo and T-Bar Piping. The original VOX Blues are checked and reinstalled with their chassis. |
|
Original VOX tolex is normally
used unless
otherwise requested. A completed restoration job will provide a mint
condition amplifier such as this one.
|
![]() After a long and tedious clean
up of the
chassis, the electrical servicing is carried out. Every amp is re-tubed
for the best tone and reliability. Circuitry is checked and corrected
if wired haphazardly. Electrolytic capacitors are properly checked
under stress of voltage to identify defects before they are sent to a
customer.
|
![]() Proper loading and testing is
preformed to assure the amplifiers are solid and sound great!
|
![]() Full power testing is done with
high capacity load resistors.
|
![]() Custom color is provided at no
extra charge if we have it in stock.
|
![]() Every effort is made to
facilitate every last detail for our customers. This JMI pedal is very
cool!!

Vox AC30 is one of Britain's most popular guitar amplifiers. The AC30 has produced some of the great guitar tones that have shaped Rock and Roll over the last 40 years. This is a milestone for an amp that has remained almost exactly as it was designed in the mid fifties. A special creative force was unleashed during the end of the fifties and throughout the sixties in the design of electric guitar amplifiers. With the VOX AC30's cathode bias arrangement and blend of Super Efficient Alnico speakers, created by Celestion especially for VOX, this amp gives more punch and tone with excellent harmonic content then full stacks of amps would yield at full volume! |
